Federal plan for more water recycling in the United States

The Trump administration has proposed a new water recycling plan that could make more use of the wastewater discharged from industries, cities and farms, including the billions of barrels of  wastewater generated each year from oil fields and gas. Uses for some of the wastewater could include watering crops, treating them for use as potable water, and replenishing underground aquifers. However, some environmental groups are skeptical about the project, fearing that the Trump administration will use it to allow companies to discharge hazardous wastewater in a way that threatens drinking water sources and compromises public health .
