RIISQ Conference: HOUSING + FLOODING: Why and how to adapt?

On March 29, 2023, the RIISQ invites you to a conference entitled 'HOUSING + FLOODING: Why and how to adapt?' [In French].

This conference focuses on the issues of adaptation to climate change in the built environment and proposes tools to deal specifically with flooding. 

Program :

  • Chronicle of a city woman with water in the basement, with Alice Dufour-Thériault 
  • To leave or to stay? Psychosocial issues of cohabitation with recurrent flooding, with Emmanuelle Bouchard-Bastien of the INSPQ
  • Launch of the practical sheets Housing + flooding: residential adaptation measures, by Élène Levasseur and Delphine Ducharme of Architecture Sans Frontières Québec

Based on the obstacles, concerns and needs of people living in areas exposed to flooding, a roundtable discussion aims to identify and reflect on strategies, tools and programs to be implemented to promote the resilience of people and their homes.
