A lot of water at a low price

The example of the Horne Foundry, which pays a "pittance" for the large quantities of water it draws, highlights the importance of reviewing water charges in Quebec.

The water fee, imposed only since 2010, is inadequate. The Foundry had water almost free before 2010. At the current rate, "it's as if it's a resource that's provided ad infinitum to industry," laments Émile Cloutier-Brassard, who points out that water is becoming scarcer even in Quebec, as evidenced by the shortages faced by some municipalities in the south of the province.
