OPPORTUNITY | Projection of Quebec's future water needs using an open hydroinformatics system

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project aims to develop a method for projecting the water needs of various economic sectors in Quebec while considering the influence of socio-economic factors on these needs.  The work will consist of two components: the first will consist of a literature review of existing methods for projecting water needs applicable to various water uses, while the second will focus on the development of a new method or the adaptation of one or more methods resulting from the literature review and its application to two spatial scales (e.g., municipality and watershed).

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

21 500 $ per year for 2 years.


PROFILE SOUGHT

Undergraduate degree in water engineering, rural engineering, hydroinformatics, geomatics engineering, computer engineering or other related fields. Intermediate level Python programming skills and scientific paper writing skills are assets.
