Trois-Rivières gets into the swing of things

06 April 2022

In order to comply with the Quebec Strategy for Drinking Water Conservation [in French], the City of Trois-Rivières announced on April 6 a series of measures aimed at reducing the drinking water consumption of Trois-Rivières residents from 298 litres to 220 litres per person per day.

In a press release posted on its website, the City lists a series of restrictions that citizens will have to respect when they connect to the municipal water supply.

Effective May 15, the restrictions will apply to pool filling, lawn watering and vehicle washing.

In terms of its own drinking water use, the City expects to save 110,000,000 litres annually through mitigation measures respecting blowdown management, water towers, rain barrels for watering plants and leaks' repairs in the water system.
