A wind of hydrothermal energy blows on Sainte-Adèle

23 November 2022

A partnership in the Laurentians would have led to the creation of a new technology, hydrothermal energy to heat and cool buildings.

The civil engineering firm Équipe Laurence has developed this technology in partnership with the City of Sainte-Adèle.

Similar to the principle of geothermal energy, hydrothermal energy aims to recover the coldness of water in the summer and its heat in the winter in order to temper the firm's premises in its brand new "Équipe Laurence Campus".

"We are proud to do useful work with this innovation, which has the merit of being highly ecological and which offers the virtue of being able to be applied elsewhere, in the whole of the municipal world of Quebec, where the conditions allow it and thus contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of the municipalities", mentions Alexandre Latour, president and chief executive officer of Équipe Laurence.
