Marc Bishai, a lawyer with the Quebec Center for Environmental Law (QCEL), calls for responsible and sustainable management of Quebec's water resources. For him, the current management of water resources needs to be improved.
There is a lack of clarity on the companies and industries that draw water from Quebec, the means implemented to educate citizens on good practices to save water are weak and information on the localities of the province that suffer from drought are missing, he notes.
He also stressed the importance of Bill 42, which aims to review the increase in the amount of fees charged for water use.
