A challenge that many scientists and companies have embarked upon by participating in a competition organized by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
The goal: to improve sanitary conditions in developing countries where many municipalities are not served by a sewer system.
The mission: to design modern toilets that can be used without access to water, costing less than 5 cents to maintain (per user per day) and allowing the recovery of resources such as energy, drinking water , compost, etc.
As part of the World Toilet Day, come learn about reinvented toilets. The first prototypes are ready. Are you?
