CentrEau Weekly Webinar: Democratization of hydrological modelling and forecasts

19th webinar of the series entitled "Democratization of hydrological modelling and forecasting tools"

Speaker: Prof. Richard Arsenault, ÉTS, regular member of CentrEau

Presentation : See the slideshow in PDF »

Summary: Predicting river flows is of great importance in many applications, including hydroelectric power generation, flood protection, and the quality and quantity of water available to aquatic species. However, implementing a hydrological forecasting process can be a tedious and complex task. Several groups around the world have started making online platforms available to simplify the task for users, but also to speed up research by making the tools simpler, accessible and intuitive. This presentation will explore the potential of one of these platforms (PAVICS-Hydro) developed by ETS, Ouranos and other collaborators across Canada.

Language: French, with slides in English

New series of weekly CentrEau webinars "all about water management". These short 20-minute presentations will be offered live every Thursday at 1 p.m. followed by a short discussion period. CentrEau professors and researchers, as well as guest speakers, will present their research work and its importance in a semi-popularized manner.
